Personal Message

“Many people come to counseling because of relationship problems.  As someone who has been married for over twenty years and who is also a mother, I appreciate the value of relationships in living a healthy, fulfilled life.  Others seek therapy because of life and work stresses, loss and grief, health problems, and because they lack confidence in themselves.  Whatever the reason, seeking help is an admission that problem resolution is beyond oneself. I have the utmost respect for those who have the courage to seek treatment for themselves and/or family members.

My treatment approach stems from both my educational background as well as drawing from my professional and personal life experiences.  I generally use cognitive-behavioral interventions that address the importance of how we think and feel and how this affects the choices we make in life.   I work hard to listen to what clients have to say and to help them identify any obstacles that may interfere with the healing process.  If the tools for healing are beyond my capability, I refer people to specialists who can provide those tools. For anyone who may have questions regarding my qualifications or experience in handling particular issues, I welcome you to call and speak with me prior to making an appointment.”
