Dr. Stocki’s experience with eating disorders began in the late 1970’s when Bulimia Nervosa became almost an epidemic where she lived in South Florida. At that time, she collaborated with another therapist and they began to educate and treat many eating disordered girls and women with Bulimia Nervosa and Anorexia Nervosa. A long-running support group was initiated and numerous workshops were given to local practitioners. Initially, her primary focus had been with Bulimia Nervosa and Compulsive Overeating, but now also includes Anorexia Nervosa, binge-eating, and obesity. Dr. Stocki specializes in the following:

Personal
Statement
I feel it is important to provide a safe and
confidential therapeutic setting where clients feel comfortable opening up about
their issues and taking risks to create change and personal growth.
I believe it is essential to consider the whole person- physically,
emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually- for true healing to occur.
This is often accomplished by increasing self-awareness and
self-reflection, changing unhealthy thinking and behavior, assisting during
major life transitions, and developing effective coping strategies.
My therapeutic approach is designed to help people meet their needs and
achieve their goals in order to lead a life with greater satisfaction and
meaning.
